About
Edel is the founder of “Be Creative, Do Math”. She studied Mathematics and Statistics in University in Cork, Ireland where she grew up. She has two small children who she says are her inspiration for her class ideas.
“When I am not working and not carrying out the duties of mamahood I am thinking of new ways to share my love of mathematics with my children. It is a big hobby of mine, to show them patterns in nature, to help them hear and copy the rhythm in the beating of a drum, to encourage patience when figuring a problem out and showing them how mathematics is actually everywhere.”
Being the only woman in the Mathematics and Statistics stream in University motivates me to contest the gender imbalance in STEM. Bringing more girls and women into the Sciences is vital for our world! Let’s make sure we benefit from the great minds of both genders so that we can work together to make the world a better place!”

Our Mission
We offer Mathematics and Science classes to 4-6-year-old kids keeping the following values at the core of our programmes.
Fun!
Science and Mathematics are fun to learn! Each class is filled with games, crafts and activities so that the children leave with an enthusiasm for these exciting subjects.
For Everyone!
We actively work to break any gender stereotyping. We feel that stories about female and male astronauts and scientists benefit both boys and girls in our fast advancing world. Monsters, unicorns, car racing, fun with design, the colour pink, glitter and strong muscles all find their way into our course material without a trace of gender bias.
Sustainability!
We keep the environment as a subtle backdrop to our classes. We feel that topics like recycling, how precious water is and sustainable living are core to understanding the world. “The natural world around us needs to be protected and science can help this.”
